Leakage of urine and high rupture of membranes usually occurs at the end of the second trimester. The distinction between leakage and rupture of membranes should be made in terms of the site of fluid expulsion and the character of the fluid. 1. Site of fluid discharge: The main reason for urine leakage at the end of the second trimester is that the uterus presses on the bladder, causing urine to be discharged from the urethra, so if you find that the fluid is discharged from the urethra, it should be urine leakage. High rupture of membranes refers to the rupture of fetal membranes before labor, the amniotic fluid is discharged from the uterus into the vagina, and then discharged out of the body through the vaginal opening, so if the liquid is discharged from the vaginal opening, it should be high rupture of membranes. 2. Characteristics of the fluid: amniotic fluid is usually colorless and odorless, while urine may be yellowish and have a special odor. There may also be fetal fat and feces in the amniotic fluid. If you find that there is a lot of liquid discharge, it may be a high rupture of membranes. It is advisable to seek medical advice from a doctor if you experience symptoms that suggest a high level of rupture of membranes.
