Coronary heart disease is a heart disease caused by narrowing or occlusion of the lumen of coronary arteries due to atherosclerosis, which leads to ischemia, hypoxia or necrosis of the myocardium, also called ischemic heart disease. Coronary heart disease is a serious risk to human health and is the most common type of organ lesion caused by atherosclerosis. Currently, coronary heart disease is divided into two major categories according to its pathogenic characteristics and treatment principles, including chronic coronary heart disease and acute coronary syndromes. Chronic coronary artery disease includes stable angina pectoris, ischemic cardiomyopathy, and occult coronary artery disease, while acute coronary syndromes include unstable angina pectoris, non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction, and ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction. Coronary artery disease is chronic and there is no cure. Secondary prevention therapy for coronary artery disease must be given for a long time to keep the coronary artery disease stable and avoid serious cardiovascular events.
