In clinical practice, we occasionally come across girls who have more hair on their legs or arms, and they tend to suffer from a lot of hair on their legs. There is a medical condition called hirsutism, which is not exactly the same kind of disease as what we usually call having a lot of leg hair. The most common cause of hirsutism is an increase in androgens, which causes hirsutism, or an increase in body hair. In a pathological setting, especially for women, the most likely cause is polycystic ovary syndrome. Patients with polycystic ovary syndrome may have a high level of androgens, and therefore may experience irregular menstruation or amenorrhea, the presence of polycystic ovaries, and an increase in body hair, so having more body hair and having more leg hair are two different concepts. If there is excessive leg hair, first of all, we should exclude hirsutism caused by pathological conditions, and it is recommended to consult a professional doctor or to conduct the appropriate examination. In most cases, clinically, leg hair is related to race and family genetics, generally not a pathological state, we do not need to panic.
