Children with neurofibroma need to follow the doctor’s instructions for drug treatment, radiotherapy, surgery and so on. 1. Drug treatment: there is no special-effect drug for this disease, drug treatment mainly focuses on symptomatic treatment. Generally, if the patient has radiating or burning pain which is hard to bear, he needs to follow the doctor’s instruction to use diclofenac sodium, ibuprofen and other analgesic drugs for treatment. If the patient has secondary symptomatic epilepsy, it is necessary to use carbamazepine, phenobarbital and other antiepileptic drugs. 2. Radiotherapy: For patients who are in poor physical condition, unable to undergo surgery or postoperative adjuvant therapy, radiotherapy can stop the growth of the tumor, but it cannot reduce the size of the tumor. 3. Surgery: Usually, for patients with compression symptoms caused by single tumors in intracranial and spinal canal, tumor resection can be carried out according to the doctor’s instruction, and for patients with neurofibromas located in eyelids or orbits and affecting vision or appearance, blepharoplasty can be carried out as a complementary treatment. Orbital wall repair may also be an option for patients who present with an orbital wall defect in the form of pulsatile eyeball protrusion. It is recommended that children with neurofibromas undergo systematic treatment as prescribed by their physician and that they take good care of themselves on a daily basis.
