Patients with liver cirrhosis are prone to constipation, they can eat meat, soy products, milk and other protein products under the condition of keeping their stools unrestricted, be careful not to eat more, otherwise abdominal distension and dry stools will occur, and advanced patients can cause elevated blood ammonia leading to liver coma. If there is dry stool and constipation, apply lactulose oral solution to soften the stool, which can prevent the occurrence of hepatic coma.  Patients with cirrhosis should take antibiotics to control infection when diarrhea and abdominal pain occur, and common antibiotics include haloperidol and levofloxacin.
