Where is the conjunctiva located?

The conjunctiva of the eye is the membranous tissue that covers the surface of the white eye and can be seen with the naked eye. The conjunctiva is very thin and therefore not very visible. It is only visible when there is local inflammation, such as congestion or edema of the conjunctiva. Depending on the location, the conjunctiva can be divided into three locations: the bulbar conjunctiva, the fornix conjunctiva and the lid conjunctiva, which form the conjunctival sac and thus provide sufficient space for the eye to move. If various inflammatory conditions involve the conjunctival tissues later, it may cause lesions of the conjunctiva, such as inflammation of the conjunctiva. For this condition, early treatment is required. First, a detailed examination should be performed at the hospital to clarify the cause and give symptomatic treatment according to the specific cause. If it is caused by bacterial infection, antibiotics are needed, and if it is caused by viral infection, antiviral treatment is needed.
