What does it mean to be asymptomatically infected with the new coronavirus?

An asymptomatic neocoronavirus infected person is a patient who tests positive for a novel coronavirus on a nucleic acid test, but has no self-perceived or physician-recognizable signs and symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, or diarrhea. This phenomenon exists in the following two situations.
1. Patients who are positive for novel coronavirus nucleic acid but do not have any of the above clinical manifestations during the medical observation period. In this case, the patient’s nucleic acid test for the novel coronavirus may become negative before the observation period is lifted, and the patient may remain asymptomatic throughout the infection.
2. Patients who test positive for novel coronavirus nucleic acid, have no clinical signs at the time of sampling, but develop recognizable signs and symptoms during the observation period, suggesting that they were previously in the latent phase of the disease.
Regardless of the patient’s condition, as long as the nucleic acid test is positive, the patient needs to be under intensive medical observation, maintain a good attitude, and actively receive treatment according to the development of the disease.
