Small pustules on the scalp are usually due to the formation of folliculitis of the scalp. Folliculitis is usually caused by personal lack of hygiene resulting in a dirty scalp, or a decrease in body resistance, staying up late, alcoholism, etc. It may also be due to frequent scratching of the scalp, resulting in a small local breakage of the scalp, and some bacteria planted on the scalp enter the scalp through the broken skin causing infection. For small pustules on the scalp, oral anti-inflammatory drugs are usually given to cure them. However, if the patient is old and weak, the anti-inflammatory medicine alone may not be able to control the further development of the abscess. When the abscess increases in size and the pus is fully formed, the abscess can be incised and drained, and then the medication can be changed intensively so that the abscess will slowly heal.
