What is high collar syndrome?

High collar syndrome refers to carotid sinus syndrome, a series of clinical manifestations caused by the carotid sinus being compressed by wearing high-collar clothing, collar buttons that are too hard or too tight, and ties that are too tight.

There are many nerve endings in the carotid sinus area, which can cause headache, dizziness, and in severe cases, fainting or falling when they are stimulated by the compression of collars, collar buttons, and neckties.

The carotid sinus is at the bifurcation of the common carotid artery, the arterial wall is thinned, the muscle inside the wall is less and the elastic tissue is increased, and the nerve endings in it are the pressure receptors. Stimulation of the carotid sinus nerve endings due to factors such as collars, collar buttons, and neckties can lead to slowing down of the heartbeat and the drop of blood pressure.

When you suffer from high blood pressure, cerebral arteriosclerosis, hyperthyroidism, diabetes and other diseases, you should avoid wearing clothes with high collars, collar buttons, and ties that are too tight, so as not to affect the blood supply to the brain.

Carotid sinus syndrome needs to remove the triggering factors in time, and go to the hospital to rule out whether there are other organic lesions, follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment, do not be negligent, so as not to delay the condition.
