Varicose veins are a Western medical condition, but in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) they are categorized as “vein paralysis”. Compound Danshen Tablets are not generally used in the treatment of varicose veins.
Compound Danshen Tablet is composed of Danshen, Panax ginseng, which activates blood circulation and removes blood stasis, and Ice Tablet, which opens up and awakens the mind, clears heat and relieves pain, which has the effect of activating blood circulation and removing blood stasis, regulating qi and relieving pain. It is used for the treatment of chest paralysis (chest tightness and pain) caused by qi stagnation and blood stasis, which is characterized by chest tightness and stabbing pain in the precordial region.
Its adverse reactions include gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal distension, abdominal pain, diarrhea, abdominal discomfort; skin symptoms such as rash, itching; neurological symptoms such as dizziness, headache; cardiovascular symptoms such as palpitation, chest tightness; and other symptoms such as fatigue, dry mouth, allergy or allergic-like reaction. Use with caution in pregnant women. Use with caution in patients with deficiency and coldness of the spleen and stomach.
Compound Danshen Tablet is not generally used for the treatment of varicose veins, and those who need it are advised to use it properly under the guidance of physicians.
