Can diabetics live longer?

With the increasing standard of living, people’s dietary structure has changed greatly, but with it, the incidence of diabetes has also shown a gradual increase. In particular, the prevalence of type 2 diabetes is particularly high among middle-aged people over the age of forty. In Japan, 10% of the population over the age of forty, or one in ten people, has diabetes. Diabetes is a series of metabolic disorders such as sugar, protein, fat, water and electrolytes caused by genetic factors, immune dysfunction, microbial infections and their toxins, free radical toxins, mental factors, etc. It is characterized by high blood glucose, and in typical cases, polyuria, polydipsia, polyphagia and emaciation. So, can you live a long life with diabetes? The world’s first diabetic friend treated with insulin, TedRyder, a British boy, lived to be 76 years old under the medical and living conditions at that time! This was already significantly higher than the average life expectancy of the British at that time. Irishman Andrew, born in 1912, developed type 1 diabetes at the age of 13 and started insulin treatment, and is now nearly 90 years old and has 5 children, all of whom are healthy. Diabetic friends in their 90s are not uncommon these days! There are five approaches to the treatment of diabetes, or the five horsemen, namely diet therapy, exercise therapy, medication, diabetes education and diabetes monitoring. As long as one adheres to scientific treatment methods, it is entirely possible to live to be 100 years old under modern conditions of continuous improvement in treatment and living environment. The true natural life expectancy of a human being is over 120 years! Diabetics are known as conditionally healthy people, and diabetes should not hinder your longevity. Through scientific and reasonable treatment, diabetic patients with good blood sugar control can work as usual, study as usual, can enjoy the same life expectancy as normal people, young people can get married and have children normally, diabetics can still live a long life.
