How to bring down blood pressure in pregnancy hypertension

Gestational hypertension can be lowered by taking antihypertensive medications and improving lifestyle under the guidance of a physician. Hypertension in pregnancy refers to the first appearance of hypertension after 20 weeks of pregnancy, with systolic blood pressure ≥140 and/or diastolic blood pressure ≥90mmHg, which returns to normal within 12 weeks after delivery; timely antihypertensive treatment can prevent complications such as eclampsia, cardio-cerebral and cerebral vascular accidents, and placenta previa; blood pressure can be lowered by taking antihypertensive medications and improving life style in general. 1. Antihypertensive drugs: common antihypertensive drugs include labetalol, nifedipine, nimodipine, methyldopa, nitroglycerin, etc.; diuretics, atenolol and prazosin are not recommended, and the use of ACEI and ARB is prohibited. 2. Improvement of lifestyle: In addition to medication, such patients should maintain stable blood pressure with low-salt diet, adequate sleep, more fresh vegetables and fruits, and protein supplementation.
