It can promote drainage and seepage of dampness (promote the operation of water to dispel dampness), strengthen the spleen, stop diarrhea, remove paralysis, expel pus, detoxify and disperse knots. It is used for edema, athlete’s foot, dysuria, diarrhea due to spleen deficiency, dampness paralysis, lung carbuncle, intestinal carbuncle (carbuncle occurring in the intestines and bowels, manifested by fever, pain in the right abdomen, and palpable lumps).
