What’s wrong with cold and painful legs after giving birth?

Cold and painful legs after delivery may be some physiological phenomenon, or may be the manifestation of certain diseases, such as varicose veins, rheumatoid arthritis, etc., and should be promptly consulted to find out the cause of the disease.
1. Physiological factors: due to the cold in the legs, it is common for the legs to blow directly on the air conditioner or the legs to blow directly on the fan, resulting in poor blood circulation in the legs, which leads to the symptoms of cold legs and pain in the legs.
2. Pathologic factors:
(1) Varicose veins generally cause calf pain and cold legs. It may be varicose veins caused by the pressure of the enlarged uterus on the walls of blood vessels in the course of pregnancy. Due to poor blood circulation in the lower limbs, symptoms of coldness may occur, which may be accompanied by swelling and painful discomfort in the lower limbs.
(2) In the postpartum period, because of the weakening of the immune system and resistance, if the patient is stimulated by cold or infection, rheumatoid arthritis may occur. Patients with rheumatoid arthritis may experience discomfort such as coldness in the legs, which may be accompanied by pain in both legs.
This symptom alone is not enough to diagnose the disease, and may be caused by other factors. It is recommended that if physiological causes are ruled out, the patient should consult a doctor to clarify the cause of the disease and give targeted treatment.
