Is it normal to have brown discharge after menstruation?

A brown discharge 1-2 days after menstruation is normal. Because by the time the period is almost cleared, the shed endometrium is less and stays in the uterine cavity or vagina for a longer period of time, it turns brown after oxidation and then slowly flows out, which is normal and does not require treatment. If the brown discharge lasts longer, ultrasound and, if necessary, hysteroscopy are needed to see if there are any organic uterine lesions, such as endometrial polyps, cervical canal polyps, submucosal fibroids, uterine scar diverticula, etc. After ruling out the above diseases, most of them are considered to be caused by luteal atrophy, or luteal insufficiency, and need to be treated with progesterone during the second half of the menstrual cycle.
