The normal value of triglycerides is 1.7 mmol/L, so with 2.8 mmol/L, the triglyceride level is just a little bit higher. However, the level of triglycerides has a lot to do with the patient’s diet in the previous days, for example, if the patient has eaten fatty food in the previous days, it may cause high triglycerides when checking the blood lipids. Therefore, it is generally not recommended to eat too fatty food during the first three days of the physical examination. If triglycerides are measured to be slightly high, you can eat a light diet for a few days and then recheck your blood lipids again, and if triglycerides are elevated due to food, triglycerides will be significantly lowered if you eat a light diet for a few days. If the triglycerides are still high after a few days of a light diet, generally above 5-7 mmol/L, it is recommended to take medication for lipid lowering.
