There are many reasons for the swelling of legs, which are generally considered to be related to long-term exercise, pregnancy, kidney function and cardiac insufficiency.
1. Long-term exercise: when the people who often run due to increased pressure of venous return leads to leg bruising, the legs may appear to look a little swollen. This is generally not a cause for concern, and can be relieved by appropriate rest.
2. During pregnancy: During pregnancy, especially in the second trimester, the growing uterus can compress the veins, leading to poor blood return to the legs, resulting in elevated venous pressure, which can also cause swelling of the legs.
3. Renal insufficiency: Patients with renal insufficiency are prone to large amounts of proteinuria, which leads to a decrease in albumin in the blood. Decrease in albumin may lead to water leakage from blood vessels to the outside of blood vessels, causing edema of legs; decrease in permeability of glomerular filtration membrane, decrease in glomerular filtration rate, water and sodium retention, and increase in hydrostatic pressure of capillaries, which may also cause edema.
4. Cardiac insufficiency: If patients with cardiac insufficiency develop heart failure, it will lead to the obstruction of venous blood returning to the heart. If venous blood is deposited in the interstitial space of tissues, edema of legs may occur.
When you find that your legs are a little swollen, you should go to a regular hospital in time to get a clear explanation of the cause and then treat the cause.
