What is the recurrence rate of stage 1b lung adenocarcinoma

The recurrence rate of stage 1B lung adenocarcinoma is generally less than 5%, and most patients can achieve clinical cure. Stage IB lung adenocarcinoma belongs to early stage lung cancer, and most patients prefer radical surgical resection after ruling out contraindications to surgery. Because of the relatively low risk of recurrence, the current guidelines for diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer, whether in China or abroad, do not recommend postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy, and the five-year survival rate of the patients is about 80% or more. Some patients with lung adenocarcinoma have high risk factors of recurrence and metastasis, such as lesions invading the pleura of the dirty layer, or vascular invasion, or lung tumors larger than 4 centimeters, or wedge resection of lung cancer, etc. Therefore, it is recommended to consider giving four cycles of adjuvant chemotherapy after surgery, so as not to increase the recurrence rate of patients with Stage IB after surgery, and to decrease the cure rate.
