The principle of external treatment of subacute eczema is anti-inflammatory, anti-itching, dampness, astringent.
Acupuncture and moxibustion: the basic treatment is to clear away heat and promote dampness, with hand Yangming and foot Taiyin meridian points as the main points. The main points are Quchi, Yinlingquan, Blood Sea, Ahshi point (the point where acidity, numbness, distension and pain are obvious), and Fengshi. Quchi clears away the heat of Yangming; Yinlingquan clears away dampness and turbidity; Sea of Blood activates the blood and dispels wind; A Yes point on the affected area is pricked with a millimetre needle to regulate the qi of the local meridians and collaterals. Note that needling should be operated by a professional physician.
