What are the normal values for plateau and peak pressures

The normal value of plateau pressure is (5~13) cmH2O, and the normal value of peak pressure is (9~16) cmH2O. it has some significance for the identification of the etiology of respiratory distress under mechanical ventilation. Plateau pressure and peak pressure are important indicators of airway pressure pressure detection, which is an important means of diagnosing respiratory diseases and determining therapeutic strategies. The airway plateau pressure is roughly equal to the pressure pressure of the lungs and other tissues retracted, and the normal airway plateau pressure is about 5~13cmH2O. The peak pressure can be roughly interpreted as the maximum value of the pressure in the airway, which ranges between 9~16cmH2O. During mechanical ventilation with a ventilator, if there is misaspiration, airway spasm, secretions, or tracheal intubation obstruction, there will be no significant increase in plateau pressure but an increase in peak pressure. If abdominal distension, pulmonary atelectasis, pneumothorax, pulmonary edema, ARDS, etc. occur, there will be a simultaneous increase in both. Changes in these indicators allow a preliminary prediction of the cause of the disease. In case of abnormalities of the above indicators, it is recommended to go to the hospital in time.
