Accuracy varies among different brands of New Crown Antigen test kits, usually with a sensitivity of 80% or more and a specificity of 97% or more.
Sensitivity refers to the ability to recognize a positive person, i.e., the ability to screen out people infected with Neocoronavirus from the population by antigen detection. Specificity refers to the ability to exclude non-infected persons, i.e. the probability that an uninfected person will have a negative result using the kit.
The accuracy of neocoronavirus antigen detection should be considered in terms of antigen detection sensitivity and specificity, and the World Health Organization has stipulated that the sensitivity of neocoronavirus antigen detection kits should be above 80% and the specificity should be above 97%, and the antigen detection kits currently approved for use in China are in line with this standard.
Due to the existence of different production processes and principles, the sensitivity and specificity of different brands of antigen detection kits are slightly different.
