Do you need to lie flat after IUI?

After artificial insemination, you usually do not need to lie flat and can move around normally, but avoid strenuous exercise. Artificial insemination is a technique in which sperm is injected into a woman’s reproductive tract in a non-coital way to achieve conception. After performing artificial insemination, you can lie flat on your back for about 30 minutes right after the procedure. After that, you do not need to lie flat on your back and can do normal daily activities, but you should be careful not to engage in strenuous exercise or heavy physical labor. Artificial insemination is suitable for infertile patients with normal ovulation function of the ovaries, normal structure of the female reproductive tract with at least one patent fallopian tube, and normal number of sperm motility, and it needs to be operated by a professional. Pregnancy can usually be confirmed by a blood or urine pregnancy test about 2 weeks after insemination, and an ultrasound is performed about 4 weeks after insemination to confirm intrauterine pregnancy.
