What is the herb toad?

Toad is a traditional Chinese medicine of animal origin, which is the whole body of the Chinese big toad or black orbital toad of the toad family. It has the effects of detoxifying and dispersing toxins, eliminating stagnation and inducing diuresis, killing insects and eliminating chancre. Toad, cool, pungent, commonly used in the treatment of whooping cough, boils (mostly occurring in the limbs or facial sores, the shape of a small root deep, such as nails as hard), scrofula (mainly refers to the neck lymph nodes tuberculosis), sore throat, dropsy (refers to the abdominal distension of a class of diseases such as drums), urinary incontinence, pediatric chancre (a kind of children’s chronic disease, manifested as thinning, dietary anomalies, abdominal distension, thinning of the hair withered and yellow, etc.) and so on. However, toadstool is poisonous, so it should be used with caution. If it is not applied properly, adverse reactions such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dizziness and weak pulse may occur. It is contraindicated for people with superficial heat and deficiency. Patients are advised to standardize the use of the drug under the guidance of a Chinese medicine practitioner to identify the symptoms, and not to blindly use the drug on their own to avoid adverse reactions.
