Extraction of the maxillary first molar ipsilateral paranasal pain may be a postoperative inflammatory reaction, it is recommended to take oral cephalosporin antibiotics + nitroimidazole antibiotics as prescribed by the doctor.
The maxillary first molar root is the closest tooth to the maxillary sinus in the oral cavity, some patients and the maxillary sinus floor are separated by only a thin layer of bone plate, or worse, some patients and the maxillary sinus congenital penetration.
The presence of three roots in the maxillary first molar is relatively difficult to extract, especially if a root canal has been performed, and the tooth has increased brittleness and is prone to fracture. Therefore, the postoperative reaction is usually large, and there will be swelling and pain in the extraction area, and in severe cases, ipsilateral paranasal pressure and pain, and swelling in the infraorbital area. When paranasal pain occurs, there is no need to be overly nervous, it is recommended that ice compresses be applied within 24 hours of tooth extraction and hot compresses be applied after 24 hours; and oral cephalosporin antibiotics and nitroimidazole antibiotics, such as cefprozil and ornidazole, and alcohol is prohibited during the period of medication.
