Fracture healing time

There are many factors affecting fracture healing, mainly related to the location of the fracture, the severity of the fracture, age, nutritional status and many other factors. The initial stage of fracture healing is 4-6 weeks, clinically, fracture healing is normally divided into 3 stages: the first stage of hematoma mechanization period, mainly 6-8 hours after the injury and fracture, hematoma formation of blood clots, phagocytosis, fibroblasts hematoma gradual mechanization, the formation of granulation tissue, usually takes 2-3 weeks. The second stage is the primitive bone scab formation period, mainly after the hematoma mechanization period, through the human bone metabolism, membrane bone, new bone continues to gradually form primitive bone scab. The third stage is the transformation and shaping of the bone scab, which normally takes 1-2 years, and this stage is the longest period of fracture healing. In fact, the clinical prognosis of the fracture is judged by its healing criteria, such as no local pressure pain, no percussion pain, no abnormal local activities, blurred fracture line on X-ray, and there is a continuous bone scab through the fracture line. At the same time, if the upper limb is lifted 1kg for 1 minute and the lower limb is walked continuously without crutches for 3 minutes, not less than 30 steps, under the condition of unfixing, the clinical healing of the fracture will be considered.
