What are the discontinuation criteria for entecavir

Clinically, the criteria for discontinuation of entecavir vary for different patients and different conditions. If you are a non-cirrhotic hepatitis B major triple-positive patient before taking antiviral drugs, the criteria for discontinuing the drug is that the major triple-positive turns to minor triple-positive, DNA turns negative, and liver function continues to be normal, such a state is stable for more than 3 years before you can consider discontinuing entecavir, and extending the course of treatment can reduce the relapse rate after discontinuing the drug. If you were a patient with hepatitis B minor triplet before taking the drug, the criteria for discontinuing the drug is that the hepatitis B DNA has turned negative and the hepatitis B surface antigen has turned negative before you can discontinue entecavir. If you are a patient with cirrhosis of hepatitis B before taking the drug, entecavir cannot be discontinued even if it is compensated or early stage cirrhosis, and needs to be taken for life.
