Myopia with astigmatism can usually be treated with laser surgery. Before laser surgery, a series of examinations such as best-corrected visual acuity, corneal thickness, corneal topography, dry eye test, funduscopic examination, intraocular pressure examination, and tear duct irrigation are still required. If the examination reveals corneal thinness, severe dry eye, acute inflammation of the ocular surface, corneal topography that is obviously abnormal or accompanied by a tendency to conical cornea, nystagmus, and other pathologies, then laser surgery cannot be performed. If the examination of the fundus reveals the presence of degenerative areas or fissures in the peripheral retina, the fundus lesions should be treated first, and the fundus laser treatment should be performed to close the retinal fissures and degenerative areas. If the fundus lesion is stable and there are no other contraindications, laser surgery can be performed after two weeks of laser surgery.
