What causes adenoid hypertrophy?

Adenoid hypertrophy may be caused by repeated episodes of inflammation of the adenoids and inflammation of neighboring areas.
1. Repeated episodes of adenoid inflammation: adenoid hypertrophy may be due to long-term inflammatory stimulation of the adenoids, and repeated episodes will lead to pathological hypertrophy of the adenoids. Patients may have symptoms such as blocked nose and difficulty in breathing.
2. Inflammation of neighboring parts: Inflammation of the neighboring parts of the adenoids, such as tonsils, sinuses, nasal cavity, involving the adenoids, may also cause adenoid hypertrophy. Some patients may also experience systemic adverse effects, such as fever and sore throat.
If adenoid hypertrophy occurs, it is recommended that the patient should go to the hospital in time, under the guidance of the doctor for treatment.
