What’s going on with the pain under the ribs?

Pain below the ribs may be caused by gastritis, intercostal neuritis or trauma. 1. Gastritis: If there is excessive secretion of gastric acid or a decrease in the protective mucus in the stomach, it may cause damage to the stomach lining and trigger inflammation, resulting in burning pain in the stomach, bloating, belching (hiccups), anorexia, nausea and other symptoms. 2. Intercostal neuritis: generally caused by different degrees of damage to the intercostal nerves, the patient’s intercostal nerve distribution area may experience frequent pain, deep breathing, coughing, sneezing and so on may lead to aggravation of the pain, pain in a band-like. 3. Trauma: When the lower ribs are traumatized or squeezed, the pain below the ribs may also occur. If the pain below the rib cage is obvious and persists without relief, or if the pain is frequent, you should consult a doctor in time to avoid delaying your condition.
