Curettage is a procedure to scrape the endometrium or the contents of the uterine cavity, the main process includes sterilization, dilatation of the cervix, curettage, and delivery for examination, which is described as follows: 1. Sterilization: the patient takes the cystotomy position and lies on the examination bed in the truncated position, the patient’s vulva, as well as the vagina are sterilized, and after sterilization, a sterile cavity towel is spread to prepare for the next step. 2. Dilatation of the cervix: Put the speculum into the vagina to fully expose the cervix, then clamp the cervix with cervical forceps, and then probe into the uterine cavity with a probe to measure the length of the uterine cavity. Finally, the cervix is gradually dilated with a dilator. 3. Curettage: A suitable curette is inserted into the uterine cavity, and the patient’s endometrium and the mucous membrane of the cervical canal are scraped in sections. 4. Sending for examination: the scraped endometrial tissue will be sent for pathological examination.
