Phlebitis is one of the common adverse reactions after infusion and is self-limiting, with mainly local symptoms, rarely serious complications, and symptoms usually lasting 1 to 2 weeks.
For mild symptoms there is no need to seek medical attention, if symptoms are more severe or persist without relief, vascular surgery may be consulted.
