Can psoriasis be “eradicated” or “cured”?

In my daily work, patients often ask: “Can psoriasis be eradicated”. I feel that it is difficult to answer this question because if I answer yes, it is obviously against common sense; if I answer no, it will seriously undermine the confidence of patients in treatment. Psoriasis can be cured and controlled, and paying attention to prevention in life and work and not recurring is equivalent to “eradicating the root”. The results of the treatment are still relatively optimistic, although there is no special drug treatment for psoriasis, but reasonable treatment is vital. The large-scale long-term follow-up of patients with psoriasis vulgaris shows that 20% of the initial cases are clinically cured for a long time after only one attack; less than 10% of the patients have frequent attacks, a considerable part of which is due to improper treatment. The treatment of psoriasis is a relatively long process, which cannot be cured in a week or two, and the treatment cycle must be at least one or two months. There are many effective drugs for the treatment of psoriasis, but the specific application of which drug needs to be combined with the specific circumstances of each patient to choose. But the general principle is high efficiency and low toxicity, because psoriasis is ultimately a benign disease, generally not life-threatening, so you must not pursue the so-called “cure” and use very toxic drugs. The treatment of psoriasis with medication is one aspect, but at the same time you must also control your diet, do not drink alcohol, do not eat spicy and stimulating diet, avoid mental stimulation and strain and so on.
