Diabetes Exercise Guide

Reasonable exercise can increase the use of glucose throughout the body, increase the sensitivity of insulin, and can reduce fat, reduce weight, have a good effect on the control of blood sugar, reduce the complications of diabetes, but how to reasonably arrange good exercise is quite important.  1, patients who should not exercise are: cardiac insufficiency, angina pectoris, myocardial infarction, severe hypertension, severe respiratory dysfunction, asthma, uremic phase, diabetic retinopathy fundus extensive hemorrhage, retinal detachment, diabetic ketosis, diabetic foot, recent frequent episodes of hypoglycemia, cerebrovascular accident high-risk groups and combined with other diseases that are not suitable for exercise.  2, exercise should include: pre-exercise warm-up activities – exercise – post-exercise relaxation activities. Warm-up and relaxation can be slow walking, health exercises, taijiquan, muscle massage, etc.  3, the recommended forms of exercise are: walking for 30 minutes; or jogging, dancing, gymnastics for 20 minutes; or climbing stairs, cycling, swimming (slow) for 10 minutes, depending on the person.  4, the time and intensity of exercise: exercise can be chosen in about 1 hour after breakfast, dinner, to the body slightly sweating, heart rate does not exceed the ideal heart rate is appropriate, the ideal heart rate = (220 – age) × 70%. Fingernails should not be cut too short to avoid nail fungus. In case of skin breakdown, especially feet, promptly to the hospital, do not careless, because paralysis may even lead to amputation.  7, exercise will cause an increase in appetite, digestive function, should pay attention to with diet control, otherwise the effect of exercise greatly reduced.  8, avoid high-intensity exercise, perseverance is most important!
