Cysts in the left adnexal area are endocrine disorders, follicular luteinizing cysts, endometriotic cysts, cysts caused by inflammatory, etc. It is divided into physiological ovarian cysts and pathological ovarian cysts.
1. Physiologic ovarian cysts: they are retention cysts formed due to functional changes in the ovary, such as follicular cysts and corpus luteum cysts. It is a kind of benign tumor mostly seen in women of childbearing age and usually occurs unilaterally.
Patients usually have no obvious symptoms, and when the size of the cyst gradually increases, it may manifest as abdominal pain, abdominal enlargement, menstrual disorders and other symptoms. Usually it will subside in a few months and the prognosis is good.
2. Pathological ovarian cysts: they will not subside with the end of menstruation, and will be re-examined 3-5 days after the end of menstruation. When there are persistent cysts, they need to be observed for 3 consecutive cycles, i.e., 3 months.
If persistent, there will be pathological cysts. Common benign cysts in the adnexal region, such as hydrosalpinx and tubal mesenteric cysts, are mostly due to chronic inflammatory stimulation; ovarian endometriotic cysts are caused by the growth of endometrium in the ovary, which is periodically bleeding and rupturing the local adhesions; and there are also some cysts whose pathogenesis is unknown.
Left adnexal cysts may also have other causes, it is recommended to go to the hospital in a timely manner, improve the examination to clarify the cause of the disease, under the guidance of the doctor to give targeted treatment or therapy.
