Talk about mango dermatitis

  Mango, Lacertidae. Native to South Asia, such as Myanmar and India. It is now widely grown in Asia, America and Africa. The mango is worshipped as a sacred fruit in India, or the “fruit of hope”. It has a high nutritional value, with a vitamin A content of 3.8%, one time more than apricots. It also has more vitamin C than oranges and strawberries. It is rich in protein and carotene, which can moisten the skin and brighten the eyes. And the taste is delicious and very popular. According to Chinese medicine, mango is sweet and sour, cool and non-toxic, and has the functions of clearing heat and generating fluid, quenching thirst and diuresis, and benefiting the stomach to stop vomiting.  However, mango can also cause contact allergic skin diseases, the main reactions include, contact lipitis, urticaria, primary irritant contact dermatitis. Manifestations are erythema, papules, swelling, blistering, and wind-blistering or oozing around the mouth or even all over the body. Localized itching is intense. It is medically known as mango dermatitis.  The main culprits of this allergy are laconic phenols, such as diphenol, limonene. It is mainly found on the skin of mangoes, especially at the tip of the fruit. In terms of allergies, workers who pick the fruit are more likely to develop mango dermatitis.  So what are the precautions for eating mangoes?  1, first of all, try to reduce the contact with the butt and peel, knife peeled after eating, do not hand tear and teeth gnaw.  2, secondly, the nature of mango with wet poison, if suffering from other skin allergic diseases or tumors, should avoid eating. Do not eat mango after a full meal, and do not eat with garlic and other spicy food.  3, nephritis patients should be careful eating, because there are cases of nephritis caused by excessive consumption of mango.  4, in addition to individuals allergic to rubber, or to cashew nuts, ivy, mugwort pollen, birch pollen, celery, carrots, bananas, pineapples, papaya allergic patients, should be careful to eat mangoes, because there is a cross-allergy between these substances and mangoes.  5.Finally, if itching and erythema appear locally or all over the body after eating mango, you should consult a doctor promptly to determine whether mango dermatitis has occurred and seek medical help.
