Choking can be saved by drinking water, inducing vomiting, the Heimlich maneuver, and calling an emergency number. 1. Drinking water: If the food is choking in the esophagus, try to drink warm water to lubricate the esophagus and swallow the food into the stomach along with the water. 2. Emetic: If food is stuck in the shallow throat or esophagus, try to stimulate the throat with your fingers to flush out the stuck food by emetic. 3. Heimlich method: If the food is stuck in the trachea, it is very easy to lead to choking, and you should seek help from people around you to carry out the Heimlich method of first aid; if there is no one around to help, you can try to perform the Heimlich method of self-rescue yourself by placing the stomach under the sternum against the back of a chair or the corner of a table, and then exerting your strength backward and upward several times in a rapid manner to impact the food, and then the food may be discharged. 4. Call the emergency number: If the above methods are ineffective, you should call 120 for help as soon as possible. It is recommended to reduce talking during meals, chewing and swallowing slowly, and usually should pay attention to learning basic first aid methods such as Heimlich’s method.
