What is an esophageal hiatal hernia? If the lower end of the esophagus and the fundus of the stomach are located under the diaphragm in normal people, and if the lower end of the esophagus and the fundus of the stomach enter the chest cavity through a hole in the diaphragm of the esophagus, it is called a hiatal hernia. Of course, “heart” pain can also be caused by other diseases. If it is caused by esophageal hiatal hernia, there are four obvious signs: 1. Vague swelling, colic or pulling pain in the “heart” or its left and right quarter ribs, radiating to the jaw, back and shoulders, accompanied by warmth and acid reflux, lasting for a few minutes to about an hour, which may be relieved automatically. 2. 2.Onset 1-1.5 hours after a full meal; abdominal pain can also occur after eating or meals, the more you eat the more painful it is, no pain if you don’t eat; intensified by lying in bed or lying on your back at night after meals, and pain is relieved by walking after meals. 3.Severe patients may have difficulty in swallowing food, vomiting blood, tarry stools or iron deficiency anemia, or even shock which may endanger life. 4. In case of huge esophageal hernia compressing the adjacent heart and lung vessels, symptoms such as palpitation, cough and shortness of breath may also appear. This disease can be easily confused with lower esophageal cancer, cardia cancer and angina pectoris, so we should pay attention to this to avoid misdiagnosis.
