How to treat 5mm stones

Urolithiasis is a common and frequent disease in urology. According to the location of the stone, it can be generally categorized into kidney stone, ureteral stone, bladder stone and urethral stone. For 5mm urinary stones, no matter what part of the stone is located, theoretically, after drinking more water, more activities, oral lithotripsy drugs (such as lithotripsy granules, etc.), most cases can be discharged on their own. If the stone cannot be removed for more than three months, or if symptoms such as recurrent lower back and abdominal pain occur, attention should be paid to the possibility of the stone being lodged in the mucous membranes, or to the possibility of obstruction of the lower urinary tract, which often requires surgical intervention. If the stone is located in the kidney and upper ureter, extracorporeal lithotripsy can be used; for lower ureteral stones, transurethral ureteroscopy can be used.
