Polyps under the tongue can be seen in the following cases: 1. polyps growing on the abdomen of the tongue may be prelingual cysts, which have a history of growth, are soft and usually painless; prelingual cysts require surgical removal, but they are more likely to recur; 2. polyps growing under the tongue, at the floor of the mouth, may also be sublingual cysts, which are often caused by distal blockage of the ducts or rupture of the glands; sublingual cysts 3. Polyps growing under the tongue may also be benign or malignant tumors; 4. Choroidal malformations of the mucous membrane in the abdomen of the tongue and the floor of the mouth may also protrude from the mucosal surface and are often treated as polyps; 5. Some people may also treat normal anatomical structures as polyps, and there are two soft tissue projections symmetrically under the tongue, which are normal anatomical structures called sublingual caruncles. If polyps are found under the tongue, patients should go to the hospital as soon as possible.
