The use of oxytocin must be done in a hospital, after inpatient diagnosis, for pregnant women who can use oxytocin. It is usually used to promote contractions and cervical maturation, and also has the effect of promoting the labor process. The use of oxytocin must be supervised and not abused. The gestational week of use varies from case to case. Most of them are used from one week beyond the due date, i.e. 41 weeks, and when special circumstances require early birth, it is usually around 37 weeks, when the fetus is basically fully developed and you can try to induce labor. The purpose of oxytocic injection is to induce contractions. Generally, when the cervical score is >6 and the conditions of the cervix are basically mature, the appropriate dose of oxytocic injection, i.e. oxytocin intravenous drip, can be used directly to induce labor, and it is necessary to strengthen the monitoring of the pregnant woman during the drip to clarify the contractions and dilatation of the uterus. If half a month after the due date, the aging of the placenta or umbilical cord will affect the growth of the fetus, which will easily lead to the slowing down of blood circulation and affect the oxygen supply to the fetus, easily causing intrauterine hypoxia in the fetus. Therefore, the fetus may have a life-threatening condition if the labor is not performed in time. If the pregnant woman is usually in poor physical condition, she must make sure that the dosage is correct when using the oxytocic injection, and she should not be too nervous, keep a good state of mind and actively wait for delivery.
