Can children eat Panax ginseng?

Children can usually take Tianqi in moderation as prescribed by a doctor.
Tianqi is a Chinese herb for stopping bleeding, made from the dried roots and rhizomes of Panax quinquefolium, a plant of the family Wujiaceae. Radix Panax quinquefolium is sweet, slightly bitter and warm in nature, and belongs to the liver and stomach meridians. It is mainly used to disperse blood stasis, stop bleeding, reduce swelling and analgesia, and can be used to treat hemoptysis, vomiting blood, blood in stool, bleeding from trauma or bruises.
Tianqi can be used internally (e.g. crushed and swallowed, decocted, or in pills and powders) and externally (e.g. applied externally). It is not recommended for those who are allergic to this medicine or pregnant women, while children are not contraindicated to take Tianqi, so children can generally take Tianqi. However, it is recommended to follow the doctor’s advice and parents should not give the medicine to children on their own to avoid adverse consequences.
