  Pinworm disease is a disease caused by parasitic pinworms in children, mostly in young children, which can cause itching around the anus and vulva of babies, especially at night, often affecting sleep, easy itching, local skin erosion, eczema-like dermatitis, or secondary infection causing local swelling and pain. Babies often show mental disturbance, loss of appetite, irritability, crying, insomnia, etc.  Pinworms are very contagious. If a baby does not pay attention to hygiene and gets pinworm eggs on his fingers and nails, and if he then ingests food with his hands or sucks on his fingers, then he will eat the pinworm eggs into his stomach and thus become infected with pinworms. If you find pinworms on your baby’s bottom, you can basically diagnose pinworm disease, and you need to give your baby oral pinworm medication. Generally, oral pinworm medications include albendazole, flubendazole, or pyrimethamine.  You should also pay attention to keeping your baby’s perianal and perineal area clean and wash it every night before bedtime. You can apply 2% Baigong ointment or Xiong Huang Bai Bu ointment on the skin, which has the effect of killing worms and relieving itching.  To eradicate pinworms, you need to pay special attention to the hygiene of your baby’s hands, make sure to wash your hands before eating, change your underwear and underwear diligently, wash your baby’s vulva daily, change your bedding in time, so persist for a period of time, while taking the medication prescribed by your doctor, pinworms may be cured.
