What causes recurrent fevers in older people?

Recurrent fever in the elderly is on the one hand related to poor body resistance and susceptibility to bacterial and viral infections; on the other hand, it is mostly related to certain diseases, such as tuberculosis, kidney tuberculosis, lymph node tuberculosis and other tuberculosis, which can be accompanied by night sweats, wasting and weakness; lymphoma, leukaemia and other neoplastic diseases, which can have recurrent low-grade fever. In addition, rheumatic fever and perianal abscess are often the cause of recurrent fever. Therefore, when elderly people have recurrent fever, they should seek medical examination in time and should not delay the condition.
