There is no such thing as the most effective anti-inflammatory drug for pleurisy, and the treatment varies according to the type of pleurisy, which is treated with general therapy, medication, chemotherapy, and surgery. Pleurisy is an inflammation of the wall or visceral pleura, in most cases accompanied by pleural effusion. There can be tuberculous pleurisy, bacterial pleurisy, cancerous pleural effusion and so on. 1. Tuberculous pleurisy: bed rest; use of anti-tuberculous drugs such as isoniazid, etc., and thoracentesis for pleural effusion. 2. Bacterial pleurisy: mostly secondary to lung infections, such as pneumonia, lung abscess, etc. Treatment includes giving high-energy, high-protein and vitamin-rich food; choosing sensitive antimicrobial drugs to treat the primary disease, and selecting penicillins such as amoxicillin and macrolides such as roxithromycin for pneumonia; and promptly draining pleural fluid (the fluid that stays in the thoracic cavity) when the pleural effusion is more turbid or separated. 3. Cancer pleural effusion: surgical treatment or systemic or local chemotherapy. If the diagnosis of pleurisy is confirmed, it is recommended to go to the hospital in time, under the guidance of the doctor for standardized treatment, and the above drugs should not be taken by oneself.
