What’s a tumor on the liver?

A tumor on the liver refers to the development of a neoplastic lesion in the liver area. Tumors on the liver can be divided into benign and malignant tumors according to their nature. 1. Benign tumors: benign tumors on the liver include hepatic hemangioma, hepatic adenoma, focal nodular hyperplasia, mesenchymal stromal tumor, lipoma, etc. The most common benign tumor is hepatic hemangioma. The most common benign tumor is hepatic hemangioma. Benign liver tumors are usually asymptomatic when the size is small, but when the size is large, they can compress the surrounding organs and present symptoms such as abdominal pain and distension. Surgery is the main treatment. 2. Malignant tumors: common malignant tumors include hepatocellular carcinoma, intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma, metastatic hepatocellular carcinoma and so on. Among them, hepatocellular carcinoma is the most common malignant tumor. Patients may have abdominal pain, jaundice, loss of appetite, emaciation and other clinical manifestations. Treatment methods include surgery, interventional therapy, radiofrequency ablation, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and so on. For patients diagnosed with liver tumors, they should go to the relevant departments of regular hospitals as soon as possible for consultation and treatment, so as to achieve “early detection, early diagnosis and early treatment”, and to avoid delaying the condition and causing adverse events.
