The best time for seniors to take folic acid

The best time for seniors to take folic acid is 1 to 2 hours after breakfast.
Since folic acid belongs to the B vitamins, which are water-soluble vitamins, it is best absorbed when taken on an empty stomach. However, folic acid is irritating to the gastrointestinal tract, so it can be taken 1~2 hours after breakfast.
Note: Megaloblastic anemia caused by vitamin B₁₂ deficiency cannot be treated with folic acid alone. Possible adverse reactions include bloating, nausea, etc. If there are other serious adverse reactions, please stop taking the medicine immediately and seek medical attention.
If folic acid supplementation is required, it is recommended that it be done under the supervision of a physician or pharmacist.
