What’s going on with the cardia pain?

The pain in the cardia may be caused by physiological factors such as overeating, or it may be caused by pathologic factors such as cardia mucosal tear and cardia ulcer. 1. Physiological factors: such as overeating, consuming stimulating foods such as chili, pepper, alcohol, coffee, etc., which cause edema and congestion of cardia mucosa, can cause cardia pain, nausea, loss of appetite and other symptoms. 2. Pathologic factors: (1) Cardia mucosal tear: lifting weights, violent coughing and so on cause sudden increase of intragastric pressure, cardia mucosa is pushed to esophagus by many impacts, due to the sudden impact, cardia and esophageal mucosa expands less than the mucosa, causing mucosal muscular layer tear, and symptoms such as cardia pain, bleeding and so on. (2) Cardia ulcer: excessive gastric acid secretion, Helicobacter pylori infection, etc., can cause peptic ulcer, and when the ulcer is located at the cardia, it can lead to cardia pain, bleeding, acid reflux, burning sensation and other symptoms. Patients with pancreatic pain are advised to seek timely medical attention for a clear diagnosis and targeted treatment under the guidance of a doctor.
