Toe fractures take at least 3 months to reach full recovery if they are treated correctly. Toe fractures that are cracked fractures or have a non-significant displacement are externally fixed in a cast for about 4-6 weeks. If there is a very significant displacement, it may also require surgical incision and repositioning for internal fixation. However, regardless of the above treatment, it takes about six weeks for the fracture to heal clinically. After six weeks of proper treatment, the fracture can be reviewed on X-rays, and if you see any fracture line blurring or scab growth, you can start to walk on the ground with weight and functional exercise. At first, there will be swelling and pain, but after a period of exercise, for example, 1-2 months, the function will be fully restored and the fracture will heal bony. Therefore, it takes more than 3 months to recover from the fracture.
