Meniscal injuries should be treated as early as possible

Meniscus injury is a very common kind of sports trauma in sports, often due to the uncoordinated joint activities, such as kicking air, pair of feet when kicking, or running when tripping and other states, the knee joint is semi-flexed position, when gravity through the joint, grinding and splitting force occurs, the meniscus stuck between the femoral condyle and tibial plateau, sudden straightening and rotation and cause injury, causing tears. Such as long-term squatting labor, the original disc meniscus, etc., is more likely to cause tears, the elderly due to degenerative aging of the meniscus, but also easy to cause tears, and the cause of these tears can even be no obvious trauma. The most common symptom after meniscus injury is pain when walking or exercising. The pain can be on one side of the joint, or posteriorly, or it can occur when the joint is moved into a certain position in extension and flexion. Many patients walk on uneven roads and “suddenly feel something sliding or rattling in the joint” and have a sudden feeling of inward or outward instability or weakness in the knee joint. Sometimes there is a sudden inability to move the joint or sudden weakness of the joint, which affects the quality of life. Meniscal injuries that injure the ligaments and synovial membranes around the joint can result in joint effusion. This causes chronic synovitis that is extremely difficult to cure and accelerates joint degeneration, making arthritis appear earlier. Meniscal injuries must be diagnosed and treated as early as possible. Therefore, after a fall or sprain of the knee joint, it is important to seek medical attention and have a period of follow-up observation and treatment.
