You may not feel like urinating after cervical cancer surgery. Surgery and radiotherapy are the effective treatments for cervical cancer. If the sympathetic nerves innervating the urethra and bladder as well as the parasympathetic nerves are damaged during the surgery for cervical cancer, resulting in bladder dysfunction, or over-distension of the bladder, or loss of the bladder neck support function, some post-surgical complications, such as difficulty in urination, lack of a strong urge to urinate, or lack of sensation in urinating, may occur. However, as long as the urinary tract is unobstructed and you can urinate normally without frequent urination and urgency, the symptom of no sensation in urination can gradually improve. If there is no feeling of urination after cervical cancer surgery, patients are advised to observe the urination situation by themselves. If the patient can pass urine normally, there is no need to deal with it for the time being, and regular rechecking will be enough. If there is no sensation in urination and accompanied by other uncomfortable symptoms, it is recommended to go to the hospital for rechecking as soon as possible.
